Get your fingers looking festive with these easy Christmas nail art ideas
Picture yourself holding a glass of bubbly this weekend and your friend enviously glancing at your newly painted festive finger tips. Sound good? Well then you’ll love these nail looks.
Giving yourself a Christmas mani doesn’t have to be tricky or time consuming. We’ve come up with four simple and fun designs, inspired by the nation’s favourite festive chocolates, to take you through the holiday season.
Just pick one of these and get painting…
Nail look 1: Perfect parcels
Inspired by Cadbury
The perfect design for hanging up these edible tree decorations… or pinching them off the branches. We applied a rich Cadbury purple base with Mavala Mini Colour Nail Polish in Cyber Violet, £5.25, then criss-crossed strips of nail art tape (from a Ruimio nail art kit, £12.45) to create mini ‘parcels’.
NAIL TIP: A clear topcoat helps nail art last longer but beware – it can make some stickers dissolve, bubble up or lose their gleam. Always test it out first.
Nail look 2: Going for gold
Inspired by Ferrero Rocher
Go for gold with this metallic-looking design. We painted our model’s nails a luxe gold foil with Nails Inc in No Bucks Given Livin’ For The Billion, £15, then added a lace ribbon sticker from Nicedeco 3D Nail Stickers, £6.19 at Amazon.
Nail look 3: Reddy in a minute
Inspired by Lindor
A manicure made for truffle hunting. We used Nailberry L’Oxygene Polish in Rouge, £14.50, to match the shade of the classic Lindt choc ball wrappers, then applied a flurry of snowflake stickers, 99p from NailArtUK.co.uk.
NAIL TIP: Wait until nail polish is totally dry, not just touch-dry, before applying nail art stickers over the top.
Nail look 4: Green with envy
Inspired by Quality Street
It’s not Christmas until your family has squabbled over the Green Triangles. The false nails in Ardell Nail Addict kit in Green Glitter Chrome, £10.95 at Superdrug, echo those famous shimmery green wrappers beautifully, and take just minutes to stick on.
