George Strait Planning To Release New Album
King of Country George Strait has announced his plans to release a new album titled Honky-Tonk Time Machine.
Strait performed two new songs during his Strait to Vegas residency — “Every Little Honky Tonk Bar” and “God and Country Music,” which will both be included on the new album, Rolling Stone reports.
On Friday, December 7, Strait released his new Tequila-inspired song “Código,” which he penned with his son Bubba Strait and longtime collaborator Dean Dillon.
Meanwhile, the release date of Honky-Tonk Time Machine has not been revealed yet.
“Codigo” is his first release since the 2015 album Cold Beer Conversation. Strait has named the festive new song after his favorite brand of tequila, Código.
Strait, who is a partner of the spirit brand Código, has a busy tour schedule ahead for next year. On January 12, he’ll perform in a massive star-studded tribute to Willie Nelson at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. As part of his “Strait to Vegas” residency, Strait will play two shows at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on February 1 and 2. Next month, he will play a concert at Atlanta’s Mercedes Benz Stadium. And on June 8, Strait will headline the Buckeye Country Superfest in Columbus, Ohio.
