College Student Discovers Man Hiding In Her Closet Wearing All Her Clothes!

What’s scarier than a haunted apartment? A 30-year-old man hiding in your closet wearing all your clothes ought to do it.

A UNC Greensboro student made that very discovery last Saturday after weeks of suspecting the mysterious activity going on in her off-campus apartment was from a ghost.

For weeks, junior Maddie was perplexed as items of her clothing went missing without explanation and handprints appeared on her bathroom walls. Eventually, she started to believe a spirit might be behind it — until she discovered it was an even more terrifying presence: a 30-year-old felon named Drew.

She explained to local news outlet Fox8:

“I just hear rattling in my closet. It sounded like a raccoon in my closet. I’m like, ‘Who’s there?’ And somebody answers me. He’s like ‘Oh my name is Drew.’”

According to the Greensboro Police Department, the man is Andrew Clyde Swofford (above), who now faces multiple charges.

Maddie played it extra cool when first discovering the stranger in her closet, asking him questions like:

“‘Are you gonna do anything to me? Are you gonna do anything?’ And he’s like no, no, no.”

After attempts to make an emergency call from her Apple watch were unsuccessful, Maddie felt the man trying to push the door open. So, she decided to open the door and saw him “in there, wearing all of my clothes. My socks. My shoes. And he has a book bag full of my clothes.”

To keep him distracted, Maddie decided to calmly ask the stranger questions while she texted her boyfriend about what was happening. She recalled:

“He tries on my hat. He goes in the bathroom and looks in the mirror and then is like, ‘You’re really pretty, can I give you a hug?’ But he never touched me.”

Maddie added that Drew was “telling me everything about his life” — he was so engrossed in their chat, she was able to take this picture of the chilling encounter:

10 minutes after she opened the closet door, Maddie’s boyfriend showed up, causing Drew to leave the apartment.

But Maddie believes this wasn’t the first time Drew had snuck into her room, explaining:

“We always joke that there’s a ghost in here because I’ve been missing clothes since I’ve been living here, like shirts — like a shirt at a time or pants at this time — it makes me think he’s been here before.”

Maddie and her roommates have already expressed concerns about the safety of their building. In December, they found two strange men in their living room, even though their doors are always locked.

The women told their property managers following that first incident; while their locks were changed, the managers never filed a police report.

Now unable to feel safe in her apartment, Maddie and her roommates have signed a new lease. She added:

“Last night I did not feel safe. I slept with my roommate in her bed. I can’t stay here. My closet, it stinks. Every time I go in there’s a bad vibe. I’m just ready to leave.”

Run, gurl! Run as fast as you can!!!

Drew, who had already faced 14 felony charges including larceny and identity theft, is currently in jail on $26,000 bond. He was charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering.
