Chris Evans: ‘Stop breaking the studio!’ Virgin radio host warns co-star
Chris Evans, 53, told off his co-star Vassos Alexander, 46, live on air for making noise in the studio.
Chris was back hosting his Virgin Radio radio show on Tuesday morning after running the TCS Amsterdam Marathon on Sunday for Alzheimer’s campaign, Dementia Revolution.
The gruelling 26.2 mile run left them with “achy legs” and it seemed that it had really taken its toll on Vassos, so much so, that he couldn’t stop making noise.
The host was in the middle of a bulletin when listeners heard a loud crash.
Stop breaking the studio with your closh clashing!

“Trevor McDonald, can’t wait to read his book -,” Chris was reading out a fans comment before being interrupted by an ear-splitting clang.
The studio fell totally silent before the radio host splutter with laughter: “Alright?” Chris asked.
Vassos, who was apparently behind the noise apologised as the studio erupted with laughter.
Chris continued: “Do you fancy a closh, clash, in the morning do you? Ever since he ran his first marathon yesterday and realised he can’t walk for the first week,” he joked.
It wasn’t long before listeners heard another bang as Chris shouted “Stop breaking the studio with your closh clashing!
“Get on with your big voice over come on now,” he laughed.
The radio DJ and his team cam back from the Netherlands after raising over £400,000 for the Dementia Revolution campaign, part of Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer’s Research UK.
He was joined by Vassos and various other members of The Virgin Radio Breakfast Show team.
At the beginning of the show Chris told viewers all about the team’s experience: “You feel super mighty,” he said.
“There were DJs on barges chugging long side us at the speed of our running rate, up and down the river – it was awesome!” he exclaimed.
Vassos said he had run 60-70 marathons prior to the Amsterdam run and was upset because he didn’t follow his own advice this time around.
He said he tells people not to buy new running shoes before running a race but sheepishly admitted he made that exact mistake: “I bought a pair of trainers and my run was significantly slower than I hoped,” he laughed.
“We might just talk about our Amsterdam trip for the whole show, sorry,” Chris apologised with a giggle.
Speaking to Alzheimers Society after the marathon, Chris said: “Amsterdam-busting with our lovely bidders – doing the marathon for Dementia Revolution – was brilliant.
“Each of our listeners who donated has helped make a difference, was a joy to spend time with and each of them now has 49 new friends.”
Dame Barbara Windsor’s husband and Alzheimer’s Society ambassador, Scott Mitchell also joined the radio team along with EastEnders actress Tanya Franks and 50 dedicated listeners.
The Chris Evans Breakfast Show on Virgin Radio with Sky airs weekdays at 6:30am.
