Chicago To Release Remixed Version Of Debut Album

Chicago will release a remixed version of their debut album Chicago Transit Authority in celebration of its 50-year anniversary.
The revamped version will be available on CD and as a double-LP on 180-gram vinyl from Rhino on August 30.
Originally released on April 28, 1969, the debut album, self-titled at the time, was a groundbreaking double-LP that was certified double-platinum. The album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2014 and also earned the band a Grammy nomination for best new artist.
The album includes several hits such as, “Beginnings,” “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?” and “Questions 67 and 68.” The album features late guitarist Terry Kath, keyboardist Robert Lamm, bassist Peter Cetera, and drummer Danny Seraphine.
The band worked with mixing engineer Tim Jessup to remix the entire album. The CD is priced at $15.98, while the double-LP on 180-gram vinyl is priced at $31.98. A limited-edition, numbered version of the 2 LP set on gold vinyl will also be available through Rhino.com.
