Alex Jones, presenter of The One Show on BBC One, has paid tribute to a colleague Charlie Mott who died over the weekend.
She began the heartfelt tribute by saying everybody on the team was “absolutely devastated” and she called him “hugely talented”.
Charlie worked behind the scenes on The One Show as a researcher for the programme.
According to his LinkedIn bio he said: “Shooting/Studio/Casting/Location Researcher for Broadcast Television”.
He had been worked for BBC Studios for just over two years, becoming a shooting researcher in February 2019.
He joined the BBC as a runner back in 2014, and became a much-loved member of the BBC team.
According to his LinkedIn profile he studied multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University, and he took part in the BBC Academy training programme.
No cause of death was announced by his BBC colleagues, but his friends said he was “so young”.
