Carol Vorderman: Countdown star gets caught in ‘gale force snow’ as Storm Dennis descends

Carol Vorderman, 59, got caught in a blast of “Gale force snow” during a trip to the Brecon Beacons yesterday.

The TV and radio star, who found fame on Channel 4 game show Countdown, documented her snowy trip on social media and urged her fans to “stay safe”.

The BBC Radio Wales presenter told her 425,100 followers she decided to change her plans after running into the cold weather front on the mountain range in South Wales.

Sharing four windswept pictures of herself on Twitter after her descent down the mountain and a warm pot of tea, she told her followers about the outing.

Carol said simply: “Ouch….#GaleForceSnow.”

The popular television star continued: “Always careful… didn’t hike.”

Giving fans an update, she added: “Back down the mountain for a pot of tea and off for ten miles on our beautiful canal instead ⁦@BreconBeaconsNP #StaySafe #StormDennis.”

In the pictures, Carol could be seen on a pathway up a mountain with a dusting of white snow on the ground.

She attempted to keep warm in a black padded jacket with bright orange zips worn with dark trousers and walking boots.

A large scarf covered most of her face.

Another image showed the TV star in the back of a car with her caramel tresses tucked into her coat as she made her way down the mountain.
