Barack Obama wishes wife Michelle happy anniversary with sweet post: ‘Thanks babe’

Happy anniversary to the Obamas!

Former President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, are celebrating another year of marriage, with Thursday, October 3, 2019 representing their 27th wedding anniversary.

To commemorate the occasion, Barack took to Instagram to wish his wife a happy anniversary.

“Like the Beatles said: It’s getting better all the time,” he captioned his post, quoting the Beatles’ song, “Getting Better.” “Thanks, babe, for 27 amazing years!”

In the accompanying photo, Michelle is hugging her husband from behind as they gaze out into the horizon as the sun is setting. Michelle is wearing a matching green hat and jacket, while Barack is wearing a matching blue pullover and hat.

The couple, who inhabited the White House from early 2009 until early 2017, has kept busy since the end of Barack’s two terms as President of the United States. In addition to forming their joint production company, Higher Ground, and striking up exclusive deals with Netflix and Spotify, the couple has also been enjoying some much-needed rest and relaxation, vacationing with their daughters (and visiting the Clooneys in Italy!) and taking several couples’ trips, as well.
Earlier this year, Michelle released her best-selling memoir, “Becoming,” and the couple also sent their younger daughter, Sasha, off to college at the University of Michigan.
