'Attention-Seeking' Yoko Ono Pursued John Lennon For Years Before Love Affair
Yoko Ono and John Lennon will go down in history as one of the music industry’s most well-known couples. The two were married for 11 years and became symbols of the peace revolution. But now, almost four decades after The Beatles singer’s death, the truth about their passionate romance is finally being revealed.
In the new book, “Being John Lennon: A Restless Life,” author Ray Connolly claims Yoko Ono aggressively pursued Lennon after setting her sights on him back in the 1960s. The now 85-year-old artist wrote the musician letters and traveled to see him in person wherever he went.
Her end goal, according to the author, was to make him her art sponsor — but as soon as he got to know her, he fell madly in love.

Yoko Ono has long claimed that she met Lennon by chance at a gallery opening, but Connolly said that was not the case. According to him, the woman pushed the gallery owner to invite a Beatle to her show, and when Lennon showed up, she finally got the in that she desperately wanted.
Days after he showed up at her show, she reached out to him to ask for a project collaboration, something which his bandmates immediately rejected.
“From the very beginning of her career, she understood the power of networking and self-promotion; especially self-promotion,” writes the author.

In the months following, Yoko Ono and Lennon kept in touch through letters, and soon enough, the star, “mesmerized” by the Tokyo-born creative, decided to abandon his wife and child to be with her.
Lennon’s family members were not fans of Yoko Ono, and neither were his bandmates — who once blamed her for breaking up their beloved band. Regardless, the love birds continued their heated relationship and tied the knot in 1969.
All was good until around 1972, when Lennon and his wife lost their spark and the singer threatened divorce. It was then, claims Connolly, when the artist began her desperate “attention-seeking behavior” to keep her millionaire hubby in her life. And apparently, that included getting him a 22-year-old Chinese mistress!

In a shocking photo, Lennon is seen getting cozy with May Peng, the young girl who went from working for the couple to sharing his bed, according to the explosive book.
Apart from allegedly playing mind-games with Lennon, Yoko Ono also got the musician hooked on heroin. He quickly became addicted, though he was already taking LSD and marijuana. His drug habits reportedly caused him to become paranoid about The Beatles’ rising fame and ongoing death threats.
