Angelina Jolie ditches Brad Pitt's surname as courts restore maiden name

This is the second time Angelina has taken to the courts in regards to her surname.

In 2002, she was granted the request to be known as Angelina Jolie, and have Voight dropped from her surname, after a long estrangement from father Jon Voight.

Angelina and Brad, 55, are officially single in the eyes of the court after they filed for a bifurcated judgement.

They will still have to negotiate the terms of the divorce, which includes working on a final settlement.

A custody agreement for their six kids was decided in December, with Jolie’s attorney saying at the time: ‘A custody arrangement was agreed two weeks ago, and has been signed by both parties and the judge. The agreement, which is based on the recommendations of the child custody evaluator, eliminates the need for a trial.

‘The filing and details of the agreement are confidential to protect the best interests of the children.’

Brangelina announced their split in 2016 after two years of marriage and 11 years together.
