Amber Gill hits back at critics who questioned her success as Love Island co-stars announce fashion lines
Amber Gill has hit back at critics who are questioning her success following her Love Island win, just hours after reports suggested she had been dropped from the Dancing On Ice line-up.
The 22 year old won the hit ITV2 show in July alongside hunky Irish beau Greg O'Shea, 24, but has stayed relatively quiet since they bagged the £50,000 prize.
Her fellow islanders have gone on to announce their new career moves, with many of them signing deals with clothing brands — and Tommy Fury landing two different reality series.
One fan picked up on the Amber's former cast mates' successes, taking to Twitter to write: "Maura joining boohoo, Ovie joining ASOS and Molly Mae having her own collection with PLT. What is Amber doing please? [sic]"
Amber retweeted the tweet to her 175,000 followers, adding: "Sis please don't tell me you think I'm out here doing nothing? I always do the most Be patient!"
She also shared another tweet that read: "People loved Amber on #LoveIsland because she spoke her mind, stood up for herself, didn't play by anybody's rules & was always her own person.
"Now that she's out of the villa those same fans are harassing her cause she isn't following the playbook of all the other Islanders???"
It was believed that Amber would be participating in the next series of Dancing On Ice, following in the footsteps of former Love Island stars Kem Cetinay and Wes Nelson, who both went on to reach the final of the dance show.
A source told The Sun Online last month: "Love Island contestants always do really well on the series as they are still fresh in everyone’s minds.
"Amber is a stunning girl and they know she’ll look fabulous in all the sequinned costumes. She has a gutsy personality, too, so will make excellent viewing."
However, it was reported on Wednesday that she had been axed from the line-up, and replaced by her former co-star Maura Higgins.
A second insider told the publication: "Dancing On Ice producers were always going to sign a Love Island star for next year’s series and they wanted a girl this time after having two guys in the past.
"It was looking hopeful for Amber but Maura pipped her to the post with her sense of humour and personality.
"Maura is hoping Curtis [Pritchard] can now teach her more moves, even though she will be on the ice."
However, a source told OK! online: "At no point has Amber been booked or replaced on Dancing on Ice."
Maura announced earlier this week that she had joined the boohoo family, revealing that she has become a brand ambassador for the site alongside fellow islander India Reynolds.
Meanwhile, Ovie Soko has become a brand ambassador for ASOS alongside his dad, Raymond.
Molly-Mae Hague has designed her own collection for PrettyLittleThing, but was forced to deny that she had "faked" her inclusion in the designing process, when fans noticed similar items from her range had already been available to buy from the site.
A spokesperson told OK! online: "Molly has been fully involved in the design process of this collection and has worked extremely hard with the PLT team of in house designers in bringing her collection to life.

"She came to PLT with a mood board of ideas and we sketched some new styles which are in the collection as well as making tweaks and amends to PrettyLittleThing basics.
"Molly will be relaunching her YouTube channel this week where she will be taking her viewers through the collection process and discussing her collaboration with PrettyLittleThing."
However, they did continue: "Eight of the items in Molly’s collection were previous best selling lines from PLT."
Molly-Mae's boyfriend, Tommy Fury, launched his own fashion line this week — teaming up with boohooMAN.
He also teased the pair — who came second on the hit show — could be landing their own reality series, telling The Sun: "What me and Molly have is so special, and people have taken a liking to it after watching it for eight weeks.
"How we were then is exactly what we're like on the outside. We've obviously got something about us that people have taken an interest in, so let's wait and see."
Last month, he was confirmed to be taking part in a reality show revolving around his family, titled Meet The Furys — focussing on his brother, Tyson Fury.
