Actress Penny Marshall dies after ‘complications from diabetes’
US actress Penny Marshall has died at the age of 75.
According to TMZ , she passed away at her Hollywood Hills home on Monday night after complications from diabetes.
Marshall was best known for her role in 1970s sitcom Laverne & Shirley and also had accomplishments in directing and comedy during her decade-spanning career.
She directed Tom Hanks in Big back in 1998, making her the first woman in history to direct a film that grossed more than $100 million.
Marshall also directed ‘A League of Their Own’ and Awakenings’ starring the late Robin Williams.
