Mystery as birds fall from the sky bleeding from their beaks and eyes in Australia – The Sun

DOZENS of birds have died after falling from the sky bleeding from their beaks and eyes.

The 'horror movie' scene has unfolded in southern Australia in recent days.

A suspected poisoning is believed to be behind the disturbing incidents, which has so far claimed the lives of more than 60 birds.

The animals – two species of corella – have been discovered near Adelaide, the majority on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The deaths are now being investigated by government departments.

Sarah King, of local charity Casper's Bird Rescue, was among those called out to the incidents.

She said: "The scene looked like a horror movie.

"The birds weren't able to fly and were lying on the ground wailing in pain.

"Some birds were bleeding out of their mouth. That immediately made us think of poisoning, which we've seen before."
