Hit Netflix show You has already landed a second series… and fans think they know what will happen

If you're one of the few people that hasn't seen the dark and addictive series yet, then be warned, there are many spoilers ahead.

Currently streaming on Netflix, fans have been binge-watching the thriller ever since it dropped on Boxing Day.

It tells the story of Joe Goldberg, played by Gossip Girl's Penn Bagley, and his twisted love life.

At the end of the first series viewers learned Joe had murdered his aspiring poet and novelist girlfriend, Beck, played by Elizabeth Lail.

It also revealed that thanks to the manuscript Beck wrote, Dr Nicky – with who she had been having an affair – had been framed for her murder.

You is based on the novel by Caroline Kepnes so it seems likely the second series will follow the sequel Hidden Bodies.

Set to drop in autumn 2019, co-creator Sera Gamble told Vanity Fair: “There’s a lot of great material in the second book that we’re gonna do, starting with being in Los Angeles.”

The second series will follow Joe as he makes a fresh start to hopefully find love but it will also delve deeper into his past.

Fans of the show couldn't help but discuss all the different theories that might catch Joe out in next series.

For starters there's his former-neighbour Paco, who ultimately saw Beck being held in basement and witnessed Joe murder his abusive step-father Ron.

Surely that's PTSD just waiting to happen?

Then there's Dr Nicky, played by John Stamos.

Fans speculated that because Joe and Beck both went to see him for therapy, and he taped all of their sessions, something might come out of this.

And there's also the the private investigator hired by Peach’s family to look into her apparent suicide to think about.

One fan wrote on Reddit: "Dr. Nicky would have to be an absolute MORON to not see the parallels in their stories.

"It wouldn’t take long for him to put the dots together, and I do think Dr. Nicky is smart enough to take Joe on [sic]."

Another fan agreed, commenting: "That makes a lot of sense, I could picture him getting a lot of visits from the private investigator.
"He has all of the recordings too. I think Joe listening to Beck's therapy on Dr Nicky's laptop was pretty significant [sic]."

At the end of the end of the series one the private investigator tells Joe there are some items with potential DNA evidence from the house being analysed.

Could one of these items be the jar of urine Joe left when he was busy stalking Beck and Peach?

But of all the the many loose ends up for discussion they're all forgotten with the arrival of Joe's ex-girlfriend, Candace Stone.

For most of the series we, the viewer, had assumed Joe had murdered his former love Candace, played by Ambyr Childers, after he discovered she had been cheating on him with music producer, Elijah.

Will Candace get her revenge on her ex?
