Coronation Street drops biggest hint yet that Gary Windass is the cobbles’ new villain as he targets David Platt in ruthless rip-off plan

The soap has teased viewers by their promise to transform an existing regular into the new baddie this year.

And fans have already tipped Seb Franklin, Nick Tilsley, Gary Windass and Ali Neeson as the villainous suspects.

But next week's episodes leave another hint that Gary (Mikey North) is about to turn to evil.

The soap's official website has confirmed that his partner Sarah (Tina O'Brien) will be aghast to find Gary quoting an rip-off prices for repairs at Number 8.

And David (Jack P Shepherd) looks set to be a victim of Gary's scam following the upcoming boat fire which will wreck havoc on the Platt house.

It makes sense as Sarah and Gary's relationship has been under strain due to his financial issues.

Last week, it was revealed that loan shark Rick Neelan will returns to the cobbles and team up with Gary.

Former Hollyoaks star Greg Wood is returning to the Street as bad boy Rick – which can only mean bad news.

The pair were spotted shooting scenes last week – and villainous Rick is stirring things up and preying on weak Gary – meaning there’s more trouble than ever brewing.

In upcoming scenes, Gary starts acting as a loan shark by carrying out Rick's dirty work.

And for starters, Gary finds himself on a dodgy estate trying to resolve his money troubles.

Loan shark Rick Neelan is thought to be returning to the soap for a few months, meaning there's plenty of time for the pair to cause enough grief.
