Liverpool Premier League fixtures 2019/20: Klopp's Reds kick off title challenge against Norwich

LIVERPOOL will aim to finally end 30 years of heartache as they kick off the new Premier League season against Norwich.

The Reds will feel they could not have done much more to win the Premier League after recording the third highest points total in the competition's history – and still losing by a point to Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp was hoping to end the club's 29-year wait for a top flight title, but will take comfort in their form in Europe.

After the disappointment in the 2017/18 season, losing in the Champions League final to Real Madrid, the Reds looked to put that right.

And so they did, lifting the club's sixth European Cup as they beat Tottenham Hotspur in the Spanish capital.

Yet, they had an unlikely hero over the last two games of the competition, with Divock Origi coming in from the wilderness to fire the Reds to glory.

After a 3-0 defeat in the first leg of the semi-final tie against Barcelona, a typical European miracle at Anfield was needed.

And the Belgian sure helped deliver, scoring the first and fourth goals to send them through to the final in dramatic fashion.

Origi also netted the second in Madrid to ensure the 'Big Ears Trophy' was going back to Merseyside.
