Dear God, This Viral Marriage Proposal Is The Literal Worst And Everyone Agrees

  • Instagram influencer Marissa Casey Fuchs’ boyfriend, Gabriel Grossman, staged the most extravagant proposal for her.
  • But it looks like the two planned the whole thing and it was possibly a fake proposal.

It’s officially summer, and that means your timeline will be flooded with wedding ceremony and proposal photos in no time. In the spirit of wedding season, Instagram influencer Marissa Casey Fuchs and her boyfriend, Gabriel Grossman, gave their followers a behind-the-scenes look at his over-the-top marriage proposal. In no time, their love story went viral, but according to some enlightening information, it ended up being the literal worst stunt for attention.

Okay, if you’re confused about this whole thing or who Marissa even is, we got you. Marissa has, like, 179K followers on Instagram and “a healthy dose of work outfits and career inspiration with a slight addiction to traveling,” according to her bio. On Tuesday, she posted a “surprise” video her boyfriend sent her saying she’s about to go on “an extraordinary adventure” and that he has “the most important question” to ask her. It was so incredibly extra and her “WHAT IS HAPPENING?!” caption was so chef’s kissy fingers emoji.

Since the initial post, Marissa went on a whole scavenger hunt across New York City, Montauk, New York, Miami, and Paris because, sure, why not? Needless to say, she put all this on Instagram so her influencees, if you will, could follow along on her perfectly executed hunt for the ring.

Was completely shocked when I walked into Prime112 and Gabe’s family was NOT there and mine too!!!! 🥰♥️ Prime112 is Gabe’s family’s favvvorite restaurant, last time we were in Miami we ate at EVERY Prime restaurant. Instead the room was filled with my closest friends from UF #gogators!!!! @gabriel.grossman @eliciablaineevans beyond epic!!! 📷: @flytographer you guys nailed these perfect shots 💕

Like, there were more Stories than someone at a concert!

Anyway, these extravagant proposals never really go according to plan IRL, so people were skeptical about how she crossed an actual ocean and changed continents without any hiccups. Turns out, they were most likely right and this whole thing was planned from the get-go, as evidenced in a full-on pitch deck, which was allegedly created in an attempt to secure brand sponsors.

The Atlantic obtained the file and it stated:

Also, the PDF included a detailed itinerary and content posting schedule, so it seems Marissa def knew what was up.

That said, one of her friends “took control” of her IG on Wednesday night to say the deck was just a “logistical plan” and that it wasn’t fake. Riiiiight.
