Mum of eight-year-old twins who are hailed the ‘most beautiful girls in the world’ is slammed for 'exploiting' their looks for money

Leah Rose and Ava Marie Clements – who are based in LA and Orange County – have racked up over one million Instagram followers in a matter of months, with the twins now being booked for lucrative fashion deals.

The girls' mum, Jaqi, first signed the twins up for modelling at just six months old, but it wasn't until they reached Insta-fame that they were approached by brands.

Also signed up to agencies including LA Models, Eris Talent Agency and God & Beauty, the girls – who go by the name of @clementstwins on Instagram – have posed for a number of magazines including La Petite Magazine, Petite Adele clothing, VÉG-A-PORTÉR, and Airfish.

"This past year has been really fun and exciting for Ava and Leah," Jaqi told BuzzFeed.

"Whether it be private shopping experiences, gifted merchandise from brands all over the world, or taking pictures with fans, the girls have had an amazing ride so far."

While Leah and Ava receive a lot of attention from fans – including some who have dubbed them "the most beautiful girls in the world" – others have slammed Jaqi for "taking away their childhood".

This week, social media users have been expressing their concern via a thread on Reddit, with several accusing Jaqi of using the girls to make money.

One user wrote: "Why do people do this? Is social media everything? Why take away their childhood?"

Others tagged it in the "casual child abuse" community while another said: "This is so gross. I have an eight year old. Couldn't imagine exploiting her like this for money or Instagram likes.

"And all that make up and Photoshop. Ew."

Another accused Jaqi of "living vicariously through her daughters" with one claiming she "doesn't care as long as she makes a few bucks in spite of them".

Despite the criticism, Jaqi claims the girls love modelling, but explains she finds it hard when people assume she's making a lot of money from it.

"I presented my idea to the girls that if they were up for it, in addition to their dance classes and swim team practices they had every week, they could give modelling a try," Jaqi wrote in 2017.

"I was not surprised at all when they started jumping up and down and couldn't wait to begin."

Jaqi has also addressed other parents who think her daughters look "sad", revealing the girls are "fine and happy".

"Making that comment about my girls implies that you know them, our family, their hobbies and friends and what makes them happy in life," she said.

"Did you ever stop to think that maybe modelling actually makes them happy!? If not, let me be the first one to tell you… it DOES!
