Richard Gere, 69, Welcomes 1st Child With Alejandra Silva, 35 — Congrats

Looks like this happy couple just got even happier! Richard and Alejandra each have children from previous relationships, but they just welcomed their very first baby together. Yay!

Well, that didn’t take long at all! Richard Gere, 69, and Alejandra Silva, 35, tied the knot in 2018 and announced their pregnancy that same year — and now their little one is here! Their baby was born earlier this month, according to Hola magazine . We love that they didn’t waste any time in starting a family together. And the fact that their newborn already has two half-siblings is even better! Alejandra’s son Albert is five, and Richard’s son Homer is already eighteen. But just because they’ve both been through this before doesn’t mean it isn’t going to be so fun to tackle parenthood together. We couldn’t be more excited for the actor and publicist.

Richard and Alejandra announced that they were expecting in September — and they had a little help from the Dalai Lama. The couple posted a picture with the Buddhist leader, and even though she deleted it later, the news was already out! In the shot, the Dalai Lama his hand on her baby bump as he blessed it, while Richard stood and did the same. “A very special moment just a few minutes ago… Getting blessings for our precious to come.. We couldn’t say it before telling HH Dalai Lama,” Alejandra wrote.

The couple have been very open about their Buddhist beliefs, so we love that they wanted to tell him before breaking the news to the rest of the world.

It’s clear from Alejandra’s Instagram posts that she and Richard are a super loving couple. We can’t wait for them to be able to give all of that affection to their baby and can’t say congratulations enough!
