JetBlue Pilots Accused Of Drugging & Raping Flight Attendants

Horrifying news coming from a lawsuit filed in New York federal court this week as it alleges two JetBlue pilots drugged and raped three flight attendants.

It’s claimed the three women were raped during a layover in San Juan, Puerto Rico this past May, adding that airline has not taken any action towards the pilots over the alleged sexual violence.

The women are said to be seeking damages for “discrimination, assault and battery and aggravated sexual abuse, among other claims.”

As for the suit, it states that only two of the three flight attendants decided to be involved in suing the two pilots and the airline itself, but says:

“The women, identified as Jane Doe No. 1 and Jane Doe No. 2, allege their trip took a nightmarish turn when they were drugged by two JetBlue pilots they met on the beach. Jane Doe 1 said she and another co-worker, who is not involved in the lawsuit, were also allegedly raped by one of the pilots and accused him of ‘intentionally’ giving her a sexually transmitted disease.

The suit, which names JetBlue and the pilots, Eric Johnson and Dan Watson, claims the airline failed to take any ‘corrective action’ against the men even after the women reported the incident last year. The 24-page document was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York on Monday.”

The unnamed women say Johnson allegedly gave one of the flight attendants a can of beer, who shared it with the other women.

“The beer was laced with a drug, and after that point, the rest of the night became a blur for Doe # 1, Doe # 2 and the other crewmember. Plaintiff Doe # 1 did not remember when or how, but the group left the beach and headed back . Plaintiff, in a haze from being drugged, next became aware that she was in bed with Defendant Johnson and her fellow crewmembers.”

One crew member says she remember Johnson allegedly told one, “Thank you for making my fantasy come true.”

And another alleges that while the pilots drugged her “and intended to rape” her, they “did not when began vomiting which was a turnoff.”

As of Friday, neither Johnson or Watson were suspended or even put on leave. This has meant that one of the women in the suit has had to continue to encounter one of her accused at work.

The flight attendant’s lawyer, Abraham Z. Melamed, explained “in every instance, she’s had to abruptly leave wherever she is.”

In a statement to Washington Post, JetBlue shared that while they can’t comment on pending litigation, the company “takes allegations of violent or inappropriate behavior very seriously and investigates such claims thoroughly… We work to create a respectful workplace for all our crewmembers where they feel welcome and safe.”

We can’t imagine these victims feel safe at all, especially as they still encounter their alleged assailants at work…

JetBlue needs to do better!!
