Two Brit underage girls 'battered and gang-raped after attending house party in Italy'

TWO underage British girls have been hospitalised after allegedly being violently gang raped while on holiday in Italy.

The pair are reportedly being treated in hospital after being punched and kicked by a group of boys during their ordeal.

The incident happened while the girls were on a vacation in southern Italy.

The girls – whose ages were not given – had been at a private party in a house on the outskirts of a village a few nights ago.

It is not known if the attack happened at the event or elsewhere.

After the incident the girls came back to the place where they were staying and alerted the police and medics were then called to the scene to help them.

According to La Gazetta Del Mezzogiorno the pair were in "pain, physical pain and shock" when they returned to where they were staying.

There is said to be "disbelief" in the local community about what happened.

They were treated for injuries suffered and for shock, according to local media.

After receiving first aid, the girls were transferred to a hospital where they are reportedly still being treated.

Police and prosecutors are currently carrying out investigations.

They refused to give any details, citing strict confidentiality because of the nature of the crime and the age of the victims.

It is not reported if any of the suspects in the case are already identified and the ages of the girls were also not revealed.

The investigation continues.
