Teenage girl, 18, knocked out in street after telling man who followed her from club ‘I’m not interested’ – The Sun

AN 18-YEAR-OLD girl was punched unconscious after telling a man who followed her home from a nightclub that she wasn't interested.

Gabrielle Walsh was on a night out with her friend Kyle McKeown in the Manchester city centre over the weekend when they were attacked.

They were walking from Club Bloom in the Gay Village at about 3.30am when three men approached them.

Gabrielle, a college student, took her shoes off from her night out when a man said he liked her feet as the pair tried to walk away.

The men kept following them which prompted the teen to turn around and say "I'm sorry, I'm not interested".

Gabrielle, said the man who was in his mid 20s reacted by asking if she was with "specky four eyes", referring to her friend Kyle who wears glasses.

She told Manchester Evening News: "They kept harassing us. I was saying to Kyle 'let's go'.

"Then he hit me – he fully knocked me out.

"When I woke up I was on the floor and the three of them had jumped on Kyle as well."

'I'M NOT INTERESTED'

Kyle suffered cuts and bruises.

Volunteers from the community safety partnership the Village Angels gave Gabrielle and Kyle first aid.

Gabrielle went to the hospital in a taxi after she said it would be a two-hour wait where she was given eye drops and sent home.

When she went back to the hospital she found out she has a blood clot on her eye and when she opens it all she sees is yellow.

The vicious attack has been reported to police as she is waiting to speak to an officer directly.

A friend shared images of Gabrielle's injuries on social media and it has since been shared hundreds of times.

Gabrielle hopes police will be able to obtain CCTV of the attack as she says she is now afraid to go out in public on her own.

One person who says they witnessed the attack has come forward to with their account of what happened.

The man who punched the teen is described as white, around 5ft 8in tall wearing a pink t-shirt.

Pat Karney, the council's city centre spokesperson, and said: "I am horrified to hear about this horrific attack.

"We will check our CCTV system to see if we can identify the attacker."

The Sun Online contacted Greater Manchester Police for comment.

The vicious attack on Gabrielle comes after other young women were beaten and bruised by men.
