Slowthai hides at his MUM'S house amid Katherine Ryan storm & bizarrely tries to deny hurling champagne glass at fan

SHAMELESS rapper Slowthai was hiding at his MUM'S house today after being accused of sexually harassing Katherine Ryan with lewd comments.

The Boris Johnson-hating loudmouth, 25, was found cowering at his mum's Northampton home after kicking off at the NME awards in London last night.

The controversial grime artist, who was awarded the 'hero of the year' prize at the ceremony, had asked the comic to smell his cologne, referred to her as "baby girl" and also put his arm around her waist in front of the audience.

He later got into a spat with a fan during his acceptance speech and threw his drink into the crowd before jumping down to face them.

He was held back by security as he argued with fans and was later booed by the crowd.

The rapper issued an apology to Ryan on Twitter today, describing his actions as "shameful".

But he showed no remorse an hour later when confronted by Sun Online at his mum's Northampton home – where he cowered behind the front door.

He had initially refused to come to the door – instead sending his cousin to face the music.

But after hiding inside for several minutes, he eventually spoke out to try and defend himself.

It comes after he was called "misogynistic" for trying to lean his head on Ryan's breasts while telling her: "You ain't never had someone play with you liked I'd play with you."

She appeared to try to get away from him as he proceeded to paw at her while they were both on stage.

Denying accusations he sexually harassed Ryan, he said: "She can tell you herself. She's actually explained.

"It's all there. You can make your judgement of what you make your judgement."

When confronted about dangerously hurling the glass at a fan, he said: "[The fan] chucked something at me, I didn't chuck a glass at anybody, the glass went to the floor."

However the footage clearly shows the rapper throwing a glass at the audience, and specifically at a fan.

His cousin, who stood shielding Slowthai at the property today, added: "He's already said what he feels about it.

"Criticism is criticism. He's already posted online how he feels about it.

"He threw a glass on the floor. There's no footage of it hitting anyone, nobody's pressed charges against him.

"Someone threw a glass and a microphone at him. He then reacted badly, not good at all, and threw the glass on the floor.

"The glass may have gone on the crowd's feet.

"He's apologised on Twitter. He left straight away after the show and apologised to Katherine."

Earlier today the musician apologised to Ryan on Twitter.

He said: "@nme please forward my award to @kathbum for she is the hero of the year. what started as a joke between us escalated to a point of shameful actions on my part.

"i want to unreservedly apologise, there is no excuse and I am sorry. i am not a hero."

He added: "katherine, you are a master at your craft and next time i'll take my seat and leave the comedy to you. to any woman or man who saw a reflection of situations they've been in in those videos, i am sorry.

"i promise to do better. let's talk here."

Canadian stand-up comedian and TV star Ryan replied to him on Twitter: "I knew you were joking and congratulations on your very award-worthy album! I hope you know that a bad day on social media passes so quickly.

"Everything will be better tomorrow. Xx."

She had previously denied the encounter with the rapper had made her uncomfortable, tweeting: "He didn't make me uncomfortable. This is why we need women in positions of power.

"I knew he had lost from the moment he opened his mouth like any heckler coming up against a COMIC – not a woman – a COMIC.

"I was operating 2/10. What a sweet boy. I defused it. Tonight was fun!"

During their exchange, which had been captured by members of the audience and posted on social media, Ryan joked to Slowthai as he left the stage: "Thank you Mike from Love Island."

She also said to the performer: "You are younger than my babysitter."

Slowthai, real name Tyron Kaymone Frampton, also won best collaboration for his work with Mura Masa at the awards ceremony at London's Brixton Academy last night.

His appearance came after he posed with an effigy of Boris Johnson's severed head at the Mercury Prize ceremony in September.

He held the head aloft during his performance and, after his energetic act, he proclaimed, to cheers from the audience: "F*** Boris Johnson. F*** everything."
