Philly high school football star allegedly shot and killed by twin brother

A star high school football player in Philadelphia was shot to death by his twin brother this weekend, reports said.

Fayaadh Gillard, 18, allegedly shot his brother Suhail Gillard once in the chest inside their father’s apartment in the Overbrook section of the city, NBC Philadelphia reported.

Fayaadh was arrested for murder on Monday and also slapped with a charge for allegedly lying to police about the shooting, according to the report.

He allegedly told police his brother was shot by someone else at a store, the news station reported, citing sources.

Family members have said they suspect the shooting was an accident.

“Fayaadh is an excellent and great kid just like his brother,” their uncle, Hasan Ford, told ABC News.

“They were our greatest pride and our greatest joy,” he added.

Both of the brothers, who were seniors, attended Mastery Charter School and played on the school’s football team, according to ABC.

Suhail was named a Philadelphia all-star and a three-time All-Public League player, according to the report.
