Nepal-India water disputes spur farming crisis

Nepalese farmers say water-sharing treaties between Nepal and India are diverting water from their farms and giving them nothing in return.

    Nepal shares 6,000 rivers and streams with India. Various treaties have been reached to divide the water between the two, but many in Nepal say they are disproportionate – with India getting far more than its fair share.

    Al Jazeera’s Subina Shrestha reports from the Dhanusa district of Nepal, where local farmers are desperate for water.
