Labour MP Tulip Siddiq is delaying caesarean birth so she can vote against Theresa May’s deal

Tulip Siddiq yesterday revealed she is turning down doctor’s advice – and waiting until Thursday to deliver her second baby.

It follows disgraced ex-Labour MP Fiona Onasanya’s vow this weekend to vote against the deal – despite facing a jail term for lying to police over a speeding charge.

Separately yesterday Labour veteran Frank Field became only the fourth opposition MP to publicly commit to backing Theresa May’s deal – increasing the chances of a mammoth defeat for the PM on Tuesday.

Mr Field followed Jim Fitzpatrick, Kevin Barron and John Mann in saying he would back the PM in the Commons – saying he wanted to “get on with leaving”. But sources claimed at best just 10 would back the PM.

Jeremy Corbyn last night urged Labour MPs to vote against the deal at a meeting of the parliamentary party.

He told MPs: “Theresa May has attempted to blackmail Labour MPs to vote for her botched deal by threatening the country with the chaos of No Deal.

"I know from conversations with colleagues that this has failed.

“The Labour party will not be held to ransom.”
