But after initially being served with a drink he was then refused more alcohol by concerned cabin crew.

Watters, from Kelty, Fife, told one stewardess she was ‘a f***ing b****’ and labelled a male staff member ‘a f***ing pr***’.

Watters also refused to put his seat belt on as the aircraft prepared to land at Edinburgh Airport.

The aircraft’s pilot was informed of the disturbance and he told air traffic control who alerted police to the incident.

Watters appeared from custody at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today after failing to turn up for a court hearing last month.

The plant hire worker pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by repeatedly swearing and demanding alcohol while on board the Ryanair flight on May 13.

He also admitted to failing to obey commands from the pilot and refusing to put his seat belt on during the flight when instructed to do so.

Fiscal depute Lorna Ferrier told the court the Ryanair flight left the holiday island’s Palma airport at around 12.10pm.

Ms Ferrier said Watters approached cabin crew in the rear galley and asked for alcohol before returning around 30 minutes later to ask for more.

But when he was refused Watters shouted and swore at staff calling one female member of staff ‘a f***ing b****’ and ‘a c***’.

And as the plane descended into the Scottish capital Watters refused to put his seat belt on.

After being told police would be waiting on him he declared ‘I’m not f****** caring’.

Defence brief Paul Canavan said Watters had been returning home from a stag do with a group of pals and ‘had consumed alcohol before the flight’.

Mr Canavan said Watters then kicked off verbally towards air crew but now ‘very much regrets’ his actions.

Watters was arrested and spent one night in custody and the solicitor added there had been ‘no direct threat to anyone on the flight’.

Sheriff Alistair Noble said the offence was ‘a serious matter aboard an aircraft’ but admitted it was at ‘the lower end of the scale’.
