Dog the Bounty Hunter shares sweet video of wife Beth Chapman singing Bruno Mars days after her tragic death
DOG The Bounty Hunter has shared a heartwarming final video of his wife Beth Chapman in the wake of her tragic death.
In cheerful spirits, Beth, 51, can be seen skipping and dancing around a restaurant while belting out a Bruno Mars song.
Dog, 66 – real name Duane Chapman – did not reveal when the video was taken.
But he did say on Twitter: "People have asked me… what is something fans do not know about Beth… Here you go."
Although she did look slightly slimmer, Beth did not show any signs of weariness in her all black sparkly outfit, as her trademark long blonde hair waved around her shoulders.
She lost her 18-month battle with throat and lung cancer on Wednesday in Queen's Medical Center, Hawaii.
Dog and Beth's success
Duane Chapman shot to fame in 2004 with Dog The Bounty Hunter, a reality series chronicling his experiences locating and arresting people who had breached their bail agreements.
The show was an instant hit, with viewers drawn in by Chapman's street smarts, his team, and his attempts to rehabilitate and counsel the people he was able to track down.
The series was cancelled after eight seasons in May 2012 by television network A&E, but it began airing on syndication in September 2013.
Dog and Beth then starred in a spin-off series called ‘Dog and Beth: On the Hunt’ on CMT, which ran for two years.
In November 2017, A&E announced plans of a special called ‘Dog and Beth: Fight of their Lives’, which was broadcast two weeks later.
The two-hour special documented Beth and her family as she was fighting stage 4 throat cancer.
It included the 13-hour surgery Beth underwent to remove a stage two tumour and the aftermath.
Beth had been filming a second spin-off, ‘Dog’s Most Wanted’ just days before her death.
Dog reportedly has a net worth of $6million (£4.7m).
His income comes mainly from his bounty hunting and bail bonds business and TV shows.
Breaking the news, Duane said on Twitter: "It's 5:32 in Hawaii, this is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain.
"Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side."
And hours later, Dog recalled her final moments.
Speaking outside the family home, heartbroken Dog said Beth asked him to repeat the phrase as she passed away.
He said: "When she had an attack I didn’t know anything to do but to say 'in Jesus' name' and hold her and when I said 'in Jesus' name' she said, 'Say it again, say it more'.
"And then she, you know, she told the girls and everybody with her mouth and stuff she said I love you guys, are you guys all okay? But she never accepted it."
She was last publicly seen in April, celebrating Palm Sunday, and shared a photo of herself posing next to husband Dog on Instagram.
CANCER BATTLE
Beth had undergone a number of hospital admissions in recent months, and earlier this week was placed in a medically induced coma.
She was first diagnosed with stage two throat cancer in November 2017 and later developed stage-four lung cancer.
Her final days will be revealed in new show Dog’s Most Wanted – airing on US channel WGN.
Touching scenes in the trailer show Beth stood by her husband of 12 years as he discusses her illness.
He says: "My wife, the love of my life is fighting for her life, and instead of being at home helping her, I’m out here looking for you.”
Poignant shots show Beth’s hospital bed and a close-up photo of the couple – before Dog is seen leaning in for a tender kiss.
