Beautician, 19, killed in horror crash just six months after her cousin, 24, was stabbed to death in the street

Laura Quinn, 19, from County Tipperary, Ireland, was driving to work when she smashed into a tree yesterday at around 8.30am.

Emergency services scrambled to the N24 in Clonmel, but despite their best efforts, Laura was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her body was taken to the University Hospital Waterford for a post-mortem examination.

Gardaí closed the road to allow forensic examinations to be carried out by technical experts, and the road was closed for a few hours.

Laura lived with her parents Anthony and Philomena in the Kilshane area, between Bansha and Tipperary town, and also had a number of siblings.

Local Fine Gael councillor Michael Fitzgerald said: “They are a very good family, very well-known and liked.

“It’s only sinking in, what happened. I know them very well and they’re a lovely family. It’s terrible sad, a terrible tragedy.”

Laura's death comes months after her cousin Conor Quinn was stabbed on a street in Mallow, County Cork.

Conor was knifed days before his partner Stephanie was due to give birth to their baby son.

According to reports, Conor had rowed with the suspect earlier that day, but the man had ran away from him.

When Conor reportedly saw him in the evening, he got out of his car to confront him, but the suspect knifed him.

Dozens took to his Facebook page to pay tribute, with one saying: "Rest In Peace Conor my brother [you’ll] never be forgotten."

Another added: "Rest In Peace Conor Quinn hope you get the best bed in heaven."
