Roo Irvine joined Bargain Hunt in 2018 and has remained a key cast member when it comes to helping teams find the best antiques to put up for sale. So what do we know about the popular 30-year-old lover of antiques? Here’s everything we know about Roo Irvine, including her real name.

Roo Irvine is the owner of the antique shop Kilcreggan Antiques which is situated in her hometown of Argyll and Bute in Scotland.

Her dad suddenly passed away in 2013 and just three weeks later, so did her husband Mark’s father who died after a long battle with cancer.

These life-changing events led the couple to leave their senior corporate jobs so they could look after their grieving mums.

But it also pushed them to take a leap of faith and pursue their love of antiques.

Roo explained on her shop’s website: “I’d always loved antiques and had developed a keen eye so my husband suggested we ‘go for it’ – and Kilcreggan Antiques was born.

“Out of some of my darkest days came a sliver of light. Fate?”

It was then through her shop that she became part of the Bargain Hunt team after getting a visit to Kilcreggan Antiques in 2015, followed by a call from the show’s producer.

After a year of “meetings, shadowing, screen tests and lots of studying”, she was in.

What is Bargain Hunt expert Roo Irvine’s full name?

While the Bargain Hunt star is best known as Roo Irvine, this isn’t actually her real name.

Her full name is Arusha Irvine so “Roo” as she is best known, is a nickname.

In terms of her personal life though, Roo has revealed very few details.

But what is known is that she has been married to her husband Mark since 2012.

According to Hello! magazine, she and Mark worked in marketing before dealing in antiques.

So perhaps it is through work that the loved-up pair met before tying the knot.

Roo and Mark live in the Scottish highlands and while they don’t have any children, they share their home with two Maine Coon cats.

In the next episode, it will be another of the experts leading the way in Bargain Hunt.

Bargain Hunt will continue on Wednesday, January 19, with Natasha Raskin Sharp paying a visit to the town of Dettling.

The synopsis reads: “Natasha Raskin Sharp visits Kent, where experts Caroline Hawley and Raj Bisram help the reds and blues to search for bargains to send to auction.”

But will the teams be able to find anything worthwhile prior to the auction taking place?

Bargain Hunt is available to watch every day at 12.15pm on BBC One.
