Emmerdale hit by Ofcom complaints from furious fans over serial killer Meena’s bloody attacks

EMMERDALE has come under fire yet again for serial killer Meena Jutla's brutal murders.

The countryside soap has upset some viewers with the plot, which has seen the evil nurse wipe out swathes of the cast.

TV watchdog Ofcom said it received 65 complaints over the 12 January episode alone.

It saw Meena planning to kill Manpreet Sharma and Vinny Dingle both at once by gassing them in a barn – after a chilling speech.

Leaning into her sister, Meena said: “What did you always used to tell me when we were little?

“Be brave. No matter how hard daddy smacks you, don’t ever show weakness or let him see you’re scared.

“Now you’re going to have to be braver than ever before. Goodbye Manpreet – it’s been a blast, hasn’t it? I love you. See you sometime on the other side.”

However, she later decided to kill elsewhere, returning to the barn and telling them they had earned another hour of life.

Ofcom said the 12 January complaints were related to the "ongoing storyline involving serial killer Meena Jutla".

Last week the TV watchdog revealed 156 objections about Paige Sandhu's murderous character had been logged over just two days.

Meena's rampage and has so far ended the lives of four characters, including Andrea Tate and Ben Tucker.

Having fooled the police into thinking she has fled to go abroad to evade justice she is already planning her fifth murder.

Viewers have been left sickened by the increasingly gruesome fashion they met their end.

Leanna Cavanagh, the second of her victims, was pushed off a bridge on her 18th birthday in July in the long-running plot.
