EastEnders spoilers: Sean Slater in explosive showdown with Jack Branning

EastEnders fans rejoiced when they heard Sean Slater (played by Rob Kazinsky) was going to be returning to the Square.

And in new spoilers pictures, it isn’t long before the bad boy gets into a fight.

As old tensions rise to the surface, Sean is left stunned by the revelation Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) drops and fists start swinging.

Viewers will tune in to see Sean pick Amy up from school and Jack is furious by his behaviour.

However, it quickly becomes apparent that Sean doesn’t know about Roxy Mitchell’s (Rita Simons) death and when Jack breaks it to him, Sean doesn’t believe him.

As the pair head to the cemetery to visit her grave, Jack opens up about the tragedy which killed both sisters.

But, bitterness seeps through as Jack explains how he blames Roxy for Ronnie Mitchell’s (Samantha Womack) death.

Fiercely protective over his former wife, Sean snaps and lashes out at Jack and a brawl escalates.

Understandably, Sean is angry, harvesting past feelings for Roxy, but are there other things to blame for his emotions running high?

During an interview with Metro.co.uk, the actor who plays fan-favourite Sean spoke out about his return.

Rob said: “Kate Oates asked who he was going to see when he gets back to the Square. I thought he’d want to see Roxy – dos he know that she’s dead?

“We talked about that for a long time – we both felt that if he’s known, he’d had come back already.

“So that led to a very interesting story of why doesn’t he know and why hasn’t Stacey [Slater (Lacey Turner)] told him?”

But it seems the feud his has with Jack is going to be short-lived.

“The great thing about Jack is that of all the people in the Square apart from Roxy – the only one who understands him is Jack,” Rob continued.

Fans will remember how Sean was ecstatic to find out Roxy was pregnant.

However it transpired that the child – Amy – was in fact biologically Jack’s and Sean was left fuming.

Whilst Sean’s return tonight will end a 10 year hiatus from Walford, Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) is becoming increasingly jealous of Ruby Allen’s (Louisa Lytton) relationship with Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick).

Alongside this, Keegan will attempt to cheer Bailey up and Tiffany Butcher (Maisie Smith) plays matchmaker for Bernadette Taylor (Clair Norris).

EastEnders returns tonight at 8pm to BBC One.
