Man Utd ‘targeting Konrad Laimer transfer with Ralf Rangnick to recommend RB Leipzig midfielder to board in summer’
MANCHESTER UNITED are interested in signing RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer, according to reports.
The Red Devils are set for a summer of upheaval with several changes set to take place.
That could include the departure of Paul Pogba and Laimer could fill the gap left by the Frenchman.
Ralf Rangnick is said to be an admirer of Laimer and could recommend his signing once he moves into a consultancy role, report German outlet Bild.
The Red Devils are said to be keen on signing a midfielder this summer with Fred and Scott McTominay's form inconsistent and Nemanja Matic entering the latter stages of his career.
But Leipzig are keen to keep Laimer and will reportedly open talks with the Austrian about a new contract.

And after beating Borussia Dortmund at the weekend Laimer told ESPN: "After the season there is still enough time for talks."
Laimer scored twice in the 4-1 win with fellow United transfer target Christopher Nkunku also on the scoresheet.
Tottenham are also said to be interested in Laimer and view him as the deep-lying playmaker they need to complement Rodrigo Bentancur or Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
Spurs' interest dates back to 2020 when Laimer played a key role in Leipzig knocking the club out of the Champions League last 16.
