Salehe Bembury, Modernica and New Balance Craft Special Side Shell Chair

Ahead of his impending New Balance 2002 collaboration, Versace VP of Sneakers and Men’s Footwear Salehe Bembury has teamed with Modernica and New Balance for a special Eiffel Side Shell Chair. Boasting a unique pattern inspired by the details on the aforementioned 2002 and serving up a vivid color scheme, the dynamic chair brings Bembury’s unique eye for sneaker design into the world of furniture.

Made of glossy fiberglass, the chair uses a crackled light blue shade for its base tone, then quickly equips the front half with a veritable plethora of squiggled purple detailing for a nod to the pattern seen on Bembury’s collaborative New Balance 2002. The rear is devoid of these playful lines, instead opting for a Bembury/NB hit in its center. Polished black metal legs round off the look.

The Salehe Bembury x Modernica x New Balance Eiffel Side Shell Chair is limited to a scarce five units. Its retail price and release date have yet to be announced.

Apart from the New Balance collaboration — which was recently debuted by none other than John Mayer — and his day job at Versace, Bembury has also been hard at work designing original silhouettes for ANTA, ranging from a boot-like high top to a sturdy hiking shoe.
