Plus-size woman who spent years hiding ‘fat body’ proudly flaunts tum in bikini

A plus-size woman who spent years hiding her body proudly flaunted her tummy in a dazzling bikini.

Alicia McCarvell often talks about how she's been taunted by trolls because of her appearance.

People are quick to say how "different" she is to her super-toned husband, Scott McCarvell, just because of her size.

The body positive content creator, who now boasts 1million followers on Instagram, told people she won't let others control what she wears earlier this month.

In a brutally honest post, she opened up about her body image insecurities and the obstacles she's had to overcome.

She admitted there are things about herself she's self-conscious about, but she's trying to work on it as she needs to start wearing more outfits that make her feel good.

Alicia recently stunned as she stepped out flaunting her curves in a gorgeous blue bikini.

She shared the pictures alongside the caption: "I will only be wearing this colour from now on."

The outfit looked great on her as she colour really popped, and she wore the swimwear with total confidence.

With her hair pinned back, and sunglasses on her head, she oozed confidence as she posed for the pictures – but she admitted things haven't always been as easy for her in the past.

In a previous post, Alicia wrote: "One of the things that I’ve done to change my relationship with my body was re-evaluate my relationship with clothing.

"For so long I used clothing to hide my fat body, because if people couldn’t see it, then it was less of a burden.

"I used my clothing to blend in, like a baggy T-shirt could help me take up less space.

"I’m a firm believer that if you hide something long enough, it creates a cloud of shame.

"As I started to speak to myself kinder and make choices out of love, I started to realise that my clothing didn’t really reflect WHO I was."

"I started picking out clothing that felt like me, and all of a sudden people were complimenting me," she added.

"It wasn’t until I got my first crop top that I realised they weren’t complimenting the clothes, they were complimenting me showing up and being seen for the first time.

"I remember my baggy T-shirts, my comfort cardigans and my pants to cover my legs.

"I remember them because when I put them on, I was trying to hide the things I thought people would judge me for, hide the things I was judging myself for and shrink myself down."

But her recent snaps show her glowing with confidence, and over 19,000 people seem to agree.

People have been praising her look on Instagram and are glad she's embracing her bod with pride.

One person wrote: "I don’t know what’s going on with you, but over the last few months you have gone from pretty to stunning."

Another added: "Love this colour! And your shades. Always so stylish."

A third also commented: "You inspire me to be happy."
