Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton Work Very Well Together

Though rumors run rampant about an ongoing feud between Kate Middleton and royal newcomer Meghan Markle, a source recently told Elle that the two have a fantastic working relationship, if nothing else.

According to the source, Middleton has been hugely supportive of Markle through her transition into royalty. Kate was once the newcomer and she knows how difficult the drastic lifestyle change can be. Markle’s stunning wardrobe? She apparently took fashion tips from Middleton early on in her and Harry’s relationship. The source told Elle that Middleton provided Markle with fashion guidance and inspiration when she was still figuring out her signature look. In addition to fashion advice, Middleton was also there for Markle as she worked out her day-to-day schedule as a duchess.

The source also touched on Markle and Middleton’s working relationship. The two work well together and are actually very supportive of each other’s projects.

“The women email regularly about mutual interests and their humanitarian work. Both are very goal-oriented, dedicated, and passionate about making a difference and carrying on the Queen’s legacy in their humanitarian and charitable work,” reports Elle.

It’s a good thing the two duchesses work so well together because there’s some overlap in the work they do. Both of them work together, along with their husbands, on the Royal Foundation. They’re also both interested in the arts and art education. Markle is the royal patron of the National Theatre (she and Harry just had a date night out on the West End), while Middleton is the patron of the National Portrait Gallery, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Natural History Museum. Both the duchesses’ interests stem from talents they possess. Markle is obviously a very talented actress, as she used to star in the television show, Suits, and Middleton is a gifted photographer. The two also went to school for their artistic passions. Markle majored in theater (as well as international relations) at Northwestern University, and Kate studied art history at St. Andrews University.

The two also work so closely that they have some overlap in staff. According to Elle, Markle and Middleton share several courtiers “who work seamlessly across both duchesses’ interests.”

Though the two have similar work ethics and even similar interests, the two still have their own independent projects as well.

Markle focuses on female empowerment both in the UK and on a global level. She was even recently named vice president of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust. According to the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust website, her duties will include highlighting the Trust’s partnerships with young people across the Commonwealth, and in particular its work supporting women and girls.

Middleton, conversely, focuses on mental health in education and children’s mental health and well-being.
