The saying goes, revenge is a dish best served cold, but Diana chose to serve it piping hot.

As she strode out of her limousine towards the Serpentine Gallery in London’s Hyde Park, she greeted people full of poise and confidence.

Time to buckle up for the future Queens of Europe…

With the death of Queen Elizabeth last year, we lost one of the best recognised and most respected women on the planet.

In Britain, those following her are set to be men for at least two more generations. But elsewhere in Europe, the royal future looks female.

A number of countries will have queens as monarchs, some for the first time in centuries.

Coronation cull: Dukes ‘shocked and dismayed’ after they are left off the guest list for King Charles’s big day

The Coronation, now just three weeks away, will be seen by many as a display of splendid pageantry and tradition – and by critics as a blast of flummery and fanfare.

But, to King Charles, it evidently represents a unique chance to begin a new era – one quite distinct from that of his late mother, Queen Elizabeth.

Nowhere will this be more starkly apparent than in the exclusion from the service in Westminster Abbey of most of the grandest aristocrats in the land, along with almost all their fellow hereditary peers.

Many are dismayed the late Queen’s bridesmaid Lady Pamela Hicks isn’t invited to the King’s Coronation

Lady Pamela Hicks, daughter of Lord Mountbatten and the late Queen’s bridesmaid, friend and loyal lady-in-waiting, had one of the best seats in the house for Her Majesty’s funeral. And rightly so.

Her daughter India Hicks, who was there, pushing her mother’s wheelchair, gets quite emotional remembering it.

‘She was so honoured to be given such an extraordinary seat at that occasion,’ she recalls. ‘She had the most amazing vantage point — at both the ceremonies, actually.’

The four-year-old Prince of Wales was there at the Coronation of his mother, Queen Elizabeth, in 1953 as millions of Britons watched on television.

Charles sat between the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret and bore a glum look on his face because of the ‘gunge’ that was used to flatten his hair.

Dressed in a silk shirt, the young prince later joined his mother, father and two-year-old sister Princess Anne on the Buckingham Palace balcony, where they soaked up rapturous good wishes from the crowd of 150,000 that was massed down The Mall.

Revealed: Why Meghan isn’t coming to the Coronation and why she ‘was unhappy’ with a letter from King Charles

Meghan Markle was left upset after a letter from King Charles did not address her belief that neglect led to her feeling suicidal or concerns over the launch of a bullying probe into her, it has been claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex wrote to King Charles about the issues, as well as about unconscious bias in the Royal family after her bombshell Oprah interview, it has been claimed.

She is believed to have brought up her poor mental health while participating as a working royal, having claimed in the interview that she reached the point of feeling suicidal but was told by palace aides she was not allowed to seek professional help.

There was also said to be disappointment that the letter from Charles did not address her concerns about the bullying probe which was launched into her behaviour towards staff.

These feelings may have played a part in the Duchess’ decision to remain in California while Prince Harry attends the coronation, The Telegraph reports.

Meghan says it’s ‘frankly ridiculous’ that she’s missing the coronation because of a letter she sent Charles over royal racism

The Duchess of Sussex has said the suggestion that she is missing the coronation because of a letter she sent to King Charles over racism and ‘unconscious bias’ inside the Royal Family is ‘frankly ridiculous’.

On Friday, it was reported that Meghan Markle wrote to King Charles after her bombshell Oprah interview, and she reportedly named the individual accused of speculating about her unborn son Archie’s skin colour.

It is understood that it was sent in reply to a letter from the King – the only senior member of the family to make contact with the Duchess after Meghan and Harry were interviewed by Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.

A source told the Daily Telegraph that the Duchess will not attend the Coronation on May 6 because she received a unsatisfactory response from the King.

But Sussex insider Omid Scobie has released a statement from Team Sussex, which said in response to the reports, that it was ‘false’ and ‘frankly ridiculous’.

Both transitioned into their roles as royals and mothers with grace and ease and have garnered a multitude of fans in their respective nations.

The brunette beauties have also mirrored each other’s style and were dubbed the unofficial ‘royal sisters’ by the late Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld.

The Duchess of Sussex introduced her photographer friend Misan Harriman’s Ted Talk via videolink after her PR team last night insisted she had ‘moved on’ from the race row which engulfed the Royal Family after she made bombshell claims of racism in her Oprah interview.

In a post on Instagram which included an image of the event, Harriman said: ‘The Duchess of Sussex was kind enough to introduce me onto the stage for my @ted. Thank you for the support, Meg.’

Yesterday Meghan released a rare statement via her spokesperson following reports that she is dodging the Coronation in London because she’s dwelling on the race row.

In a statement to US magazine Harper’s Bazaar, Meghan’s global press secretary Ashley Hansen insisted: ‘The Duchess of Sussex is going about her life in the present, not thinking about correspondence from two years ago related to conversations from four years ago.

‘Any suggestion otherwise is false and frankly ridiculous. We encourage tabloid media and various royal correspondents to stop the exhausting circus that they alone are creating.’
