Kate’s fans spot something strange about £2,000 dress – they’re not impressed

The Duchess of Cambridge went for a bold look for her latest engagement, opting for a bright green dress for a day of school visits in London.

Kate met pupils and teachers to mark Children’s Mental Health Week, including the country’s best children.

The mum-of-three wore a dress by Eponine – a small, independent brand she has worn on a number of occasions and has been credited with putting on the map.

She teamed the £2,000 green dress with black tights and trendy black boots.

But fashion lovers quickly spotted something a little strange about the bright look – and they’re not impressed.

Fans noticed the pockets of the dress resemble an angry face, and one fan even dubbed it the "world’s angriest dress".

Some even compared it to a monster, the children’s character Evil Pea and Kermit the Frog.

But others loved the look regardless of the positioning of the pockets.

Kate was asked to bring an item that made her happy along to one of the schools, and what she picked was adoarble.

She took a photo of her family – including Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte – which she took out of her purse and proudly showed it off the the pupils.

The printed picture is the adorable snap the Cambridge  family used for their Christmas cards  this year, and shows them sitting on a log in the grounds of their county home, Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

They are all dressed for the autumn, with Prince Louis wearing several handmedowns, and look relaxed and happy.

Ahead of her visit it was announced Kate is launching a personal crusade to highlight children’s mental health – as figures reveal suicide rates have tripled to hit a 35-year high.

A palace source said: "As a mother of three, the Duchess is determined to raise the profile of children’s mental health as one of her key roles in the Royal Family.

"She is passionate about children and their wellbeing, and this focus has already been shown to be a huge part of what she sees as her work.

"With the Royal Foundation and Heads Together, the royals have laid a path for this subject to be discussed more openly.

"The Duchess believes the mental health of children and young people is one of the big challenges of our time."
