Holland and Barrett reveal £2.99 vegan Easter eggs

IT used to be one of the hardest times of the year to be dairy-free, but that's all about to change thanks to Holland and Barrett's new range of vegan Easter eggs.

The health firm is flogging vegan chocolate eggs starting from just £2.99 a pop.

The Easter eggs come in a range of different flavours, including milk, white and dark chocolate.

All of the choices contain no milk or nuts and are gluten free.

The Vegan Milk Chocolate Style Egg with Bunny Bar is the cheapest option at £2.99 each.

For £4.99 vegans can opt for the more luxurious choice of the Moo Free Sea Salt & Caramel Egg.

CRUELTY-FREE

And if you're after something smaller, the Free Organic Rosie Rabbit chocolate bars are going for just 99p each.

If you can't wait until Easter to give them a try, all of the products are on sale now.

More than 500,000 people in the UK have a plant-based diet, according to the Vegan Society.

The rise in popularity in veganism has seen many restaurants and shops release more cruelty-free products.

Greggs topped £1billion in sales after the release of its vegan sausage rolls earlier this year.

Also jumping on the meat-free bandwagon is Fray Bentos who have launched a vegetarian pie.
