She first wore the beautiful dress during a trip Athens last year. Camilla wore her hair down with a natural makeup and glossy lip.

Prince Charles also looked his best in a black tuxedo with bow tie, with the president also following suit. The First lady wore a red cape dress by Givency, which was worth over £5,000.

Winfield House, located near Regent’s Park, is the residence of the ambassador to the UK, Woody Johnson. Donald Trump and his family have been staying there during their three day visit to the UK, as Buckingham Palace is undergoing building works.

There were no speeches, unlike the previous evening, but the Prince and the President both gave brief toasts.

President Trump said: ‘To Her Majesty The Queen and Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.’

Charles in his toast said: ‘Ladies and Gentlemen please would you join me in toasting The President of The United States of America and Mrs Trump.’

Outside the intimate dining room, as guests chatted animatedly, the US flag flew at half mast in remembrance of the 12 killed by a gunman in Virginia Beach last week.

Other guests from the US side included Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin, and National Security Advisor John Bolton.

Upon settling for dinner the Prince of Wales and Donald Trump toasted with a glass of champagne as the guests stood around the dinner table.

In the dining room, six round tables have been set out, seating 10 people each, each laid with a white tablecloth, white roses and white candles.

The President’s table will also seat Mrs May and Prince Charles, on the President right; while his wife will dine with Philip May and the Duchess.

Normally the Lord Mayor of London would hold his own banquet on the second night of a state visit by a foreign leader.

But when it comes to US presidents, it has become something of a tradition for the royals to dine at Winfield House, with Charles and Camilla attending on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, who had a busy day on Monday and will be joining the D-Day commemorations in Portsmouth with President Trump tomorrow.

The setting was far more intimate than at Buckingham Palace on Monday night with the house’s dining room set with six tables each with around 10 places.

As the two couples met again, for the second time this week they shook hands then chatted and happily posed for photos. They all looked happy and relaxed to be in each others company – before they enjoyed dinner together.

Yesterday the US first couple spent most of the day with Charles and Camilla on the first day of their three-day-visit to the UK.

Guests at the black tie dinner will dine on on fresh burrata cheese with heritage tomatoes, basil, and Maldon salt; grilled fillet of beef with pommes Anna, watercress pure, celeriac and chantenay carrots; followed by summer berries, homemade vanilla ice cream with Muscovado sugar tuile.

The wines will come from the Iron Horse winery in northern California: a chardonnay with the starter, a pinot noir with the main course, and champagne with dessert.

The menu, selected by the First Lady, will be sure to please her husband, a man of famously plain tastes who can regularly be seen dining on fast food.

Though no doubt sourced from the finest ingredients and prepared by the finest chefs, the meal amounts to beef and potatoes followed by vanilla ice cream.

Melania Trump, 49, donned a polished white and navy ensemble that was reminiscent of the outfit worn by Audrey Hepburn in the classic Hollywood film as she joined her husband for the engagement.

And while last night’s wine list included a Bordeaux Premier Cru which costs more than £1000 a bottle, the Calfornian white and red to be served tonight cost less than £50.

Mr Trump is famously a teetotaler who also encourages his children not to partake.

The most intriguing name on another table was a setting for a Mr Blair. Officials could not confirm if it was Tony Blair but are expected to release a guest list later.

There was tight security around Winfield House, the US ambassador’s residence in Regent’s Park, central London, where the Trumps have been staying on their state visit.

The road to the residence was fenced off and the perimeter guarded by large numbers of uniformed British police.

Inside the perimeter staff moved around in golf buggies and US secret service officers stood sentinel.
