Black Friday 2019 deals shoppers should avoid, according to experts at Which?

Black Friday 2019 is finally here, and there is no shortage of deals.

From Argos, to Tesco and Sky, there are thousands of deals to snap up, whether it be for yourself or as a Christmas present.

With so many deals around, it can be hard to separate the good stuff from the bad.

Luckily, experts at Which? have done the legwork, and found items they believe you should stay clear of.

For Black Friday 2019, Which? has found a number of products they don’t recommend, from child car seats which don’t do well in their crash test, to a laptop you would regret buying.

Below are the products Which? recommends you don’t buy:

Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15IWL laptop, now £199.99


According to Which? the laptop has bad speakers, a poor screen and not-so-good battery.

Despite its budget price, its “screechy speakers” let it down, and its “erratic tracking pad will drive you nuts”.

The Lenovo IdeaPas laptop is being sold at Argos for £199.99, down from £299.99.

Marshall Major III Bluetooth headphones – now £70


These headphones look amazing, but the they are massively let down by poor sound quality and comfort.

Which? experts said the “treble sounds artificial, thin and bright”, while one described the sound as “squeaky”.

They are currently being sold for £69.99 at Argos, down from £129.99.

Graco Logico L Highback Booster Car Seat – now £35.99


This car seat has poor side-impact in Which? crash tests, which could leave a child at risk of serious injury.

It scored an average of three stars out of five or front-crash protection when the back was bitted, but Which? said: “We don’t think you should buy it because the side-impact protection is so poor overall”.

It is being sold for as low as £39.99 at Halfords, saving you £10.

Graco Junior Maxi Lightweight Highback Booster Car Seat – now £29.99

This car seat also offered poor side-impact protection, leaving children at risk of injury.

It converts into a backless booster seat, but even with the back fitted it scored poorly.

This is currently being sold for £29.99 on Amazon.

Russell Hobbs Sabre Plus 22.2V cordless vac, now £89


This cordless vacuum cleaner is “terrible at removing pet hair, awful on carpets” and has “shoddy allergen filters”.

While it proved to be alright on hard floors and sucking up big pieces of debris, it proved to be terrible on carpet or other types of muck.

It is currently being sold for £72, down from £89 on AO.com.

Beko VCS5125AB, now £64


Which? reported this vacuum cleaners “poor allergen filter” and said it was “difficult to manoeuvre, inconvenient on stairs and high places, bad at negotiating uneven surfaces”.

It is currently being sold on AO.com for £64, down from £69.

ElectriQ EAP120HC air purifier – now £39.97


This air purifier is easy to use and energy efficient, but unfortunately not good at purifying air.

The device scored poorly in the Which? smoke, dust and pollen-removal tests.

It is being sold at Appliances Direct for £39.97, saving you £48.
