Mum transforms her coffee-stained carpet with £2.50 two-ingredient cleaning method

The unnamed mum shared a snap of her seemingly-ruined grey pile on Facebook group, Mums Who Clean.

The hot beverage appears to have been dropped from a fair height causing it to splatter up her black sofa and over a large surface area of the carpet.

But, fortunately, the mum was able to clean up the mess in minutes.

She began by blotting up as much of the coffee as possible using kitchen towel.

She then mixed one tablespoon of washing  up liquid with a tablespoon of white vinegar and two cups of warm water.

Using a clean, white cloth, she sponged the stain with the cleaning mixture.

The mum applied a little bit at a time, blotting frequently with a dry cloth until the stain disappeared.

Finally, she sponged the area with cold water and blotted dry.

The washing up liquid can be bought from B&M for £1.49, while Waitrose sells the vinegar for £1.

The mum’s after photos, while taken in a different light, show impressive results.
