Shonda Rhimes slices a million bucks off her LA home

Wildly successful TV producer Shonda Rhimes has reduced the price of one of her Los Angeles homes to $9 million. The Hancock Park property was listed last fall for $10 million.

The 49-year-old creator of “Scandal” and “Grey’s Anatomy” purchased the home from the musician Beck in 2010 for $5.6 million, according to Variety. So if it sells for the reduced price, she’ll still walk away with a nice profit.

Located on a corner lot, the property is walled and gated. The 8,298-square-foot home has six bedrooms and nine baths.

The foyer features stenciled flooring in a checkerboard pattern. The living room has a wall of French doors, and the great room combines the family space, dining area, and chef’s kitchen. The latter comes with a huge island and peninsula.

The master suite has dual baths and walk-in closets and a separate study. The remaining bedrooms are suites.

The outdoor space includes a tiered yard, pool, and cabana.

More recently, Rhimes reportedly purchased a $11.75 million penthouse in New York City. In July, Forbes reported she signed a $150 million deal with Netflix.
