Sharon Osbourne: ‘I’m still here’ The Talk host addresses health after suicide attempts

Sharon Osbourne, 66, told her co-stars she has joked about her mental health in the past, discussing her struggles with depression. Speaking on the show, she said: “I was joking about this but I shouldn’t — talking about my depression. And it’s like, you know saying, ‘Oh, the first time I tried to kill myself was okay, the second, all right, the third time, oye!’” Sharon went on to say she still struggles with her health, adding: “But it’s like, I’m still here.

“I still do what I do and you struggle,” she continued. “I wish everybody could think flowers and daisies and princesses, but you can’t.”

Sharon, who is married to Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, 70, is no stranger to discussing her mental health.

During an episode of the show in 2014, she revealed she had been taking medication for 16 years.

“Some days are better than others,” she said. “And some days you feel like you just want to pull the sheets over your head and just stay in that bed and not do a damn thing – except rot.”

Two years later, Sharon said she experienced a “mental breakdown,” which she referred to as a “very low point” in her life.

She said: ”I woke up in Cedars-Sinai Hospital and for probably three days I knew nothing.

“I couldn’t think, I couldn’t talk, I could do nothing,” she added. “My brain just shut down on me.”

The music manager went on to say she had “given up” and was “frightened” by the thoughts in her mind.

Sharon added her family checked her into a facility in which she sought professional help and attended group therapy sessions.

Earlier this year, Sharon spoke out about her husband’s health after he postponed his tour dates in Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

Back in February, a statement released on his official Twitter page with 5.27 million followers, revealed he was in hospital with pneumonia.

The post read: “Ozzy has announced the cancelation of shows in Australia, New Zealand & Japan.

“Ozzy recently developed pneumonia & has spent some time in hospital.”

Sharon addressed her husband’s health on her Twitter page with 2.45 million followers.

“He is through the worst part,” she wrote. “His doctors have advised that he stay at home to recuperate for full 6 weeks”.

Earlier this week, she retweeted her husband’s rescheduled tour dates for next year.
