Pauly D says 'The Situation' Could Use Some Fan Mail in Prison

Jersey Shore star DJ Pauly D is about to pay Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino a visit in prison—and he says that fan mail would be deeply appreciated. Speaking to TMZ on his way into NBC Studios in New York City, Pauly D (full name Paul DelVecchio) said that he and Sorrentino “talk all the time,” and that he’ll be visiting him in prison soon.

Sorrentino is three months into an eight month prison sentence; he pled guilty to tax evasion in January 2018, and began his sentence at Otisville Federal Correctional Facility in January 2019. Pauly D said that he is “doing well, considering,” and that fans who want to help can write to him, as he loves to read.

Before he surrendered himself, Sorrentino shared a YouTube video of his journey to prison on January 14, saying: “The comeback is always greater than the setback.” It sounds like he’s keeping this positive attitude during his time behind bars. And if nothing else, he’s sure to be working on those famous abs of his. Pauly D jokingly said “I hope he gets out ripped!” and also expressed some hope that he might be released early.

DelVecchi and Sorrentino have been friends since they first appeared in MTV’s Jersey Shore together in 2009. Pauly D was the first Jersey Shore cast member to get his own spinoff show, The Pauly D Project. As of April 2019, he has been starring in MTV’s A Double Shot At Love with Vinny Guadagnino.
