Piers Morgan, 56, this morning took to Instagram to share a picture of his plate of food which consisted of; sausages, bacon, eggs, tomatoes and toast. While many drooled over the dish in the comments section, others couldn’t resist pointing out how burnt his toast was.

In view of his 1.7 million followers, he wrote: “You can’t beat a hearty country breakfast… made by your mother.”

However, instead of leaving fans drooling as seemingly intended, many were distracted by the same thing. One user wrote: “Excellent. Toast may need a little attention.”

A second commented: “You might need a new toaster.”

A third added: “Where was that toast cooked… on the fires of hell.”

“Looks delicious, except the toast looks a little crisp,” a fourth penned.

Another joked: “Is that toast cooked?”

Piers has been spending time with his parents in Newick during a summer break.

Earlier this week, he told fans he’d still be working from his “newly-restored balcony office”.

The father-of-four shared a picture of several chairs lined up in view of the sunshine.

In response, one fan commented: “Never mind working there, when will you be back on our TVs?”

Another echoed: “We miss you on the telly please please come back.”

Piers’ time on Good Morning Britain came to an end back in March after he sparked over 57,000 Ofcom complaints.

Viewers including Meghan Markle disapproved of his comments made about the latter following her interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Piers said he didn’t believe a word Prince Harry’s wife said as she opened about her mental health and life in the Royal Family.

That evening, it was announced he had left the show after over five years.

Earlier this week, he made a surprise appearance on screen during Richard Arnold’s entertainment news segment.

The journalist was seen alongside his ex co-host Susanna Reid as the pair went up against each other for Best Presenter at the TRIC Awards.

Both of the hosts missed out on the award to BBC star Fiona Bruce.

Susanna did however win the National Reality Television Award for Celebrate Personality Of The Year last night.

Good Morning Britain also scooped the gong for Best Talk Show.

This morning, Piers’ ex co-star thanked him during her acceptance post on Twitter.
