Man Who Claims He Saw Dad Kill Mom Finds Her Skull In Yard

A man who saw his father kill his mother when he was just three years old, dug up her skull in the backyard of their family home 20 years later, landing his estranged dad in prison.

As RadarOnline.com has learned, Aaron Fraser — previously named Aaron Haim — was a toddler when he witnessed his dad, Michael Haim, murder his 23-year-old mother, Bonnie Haim.

It was January 1993 when the loving mother-of-one went missing. Michael did not report her disappearance, but when police found her purse in a hotel trash can, they arrived at his home and began asking questions. At the time, he said she’d taken off threatening to leave him and take their son.

It was then that 3-year-old Aaron told cops he’d seen his “daddy hurt mommy.”

“Daddy shot Mommy,” Aaron said according to a 2015 arrest affidavit. “Daddy placed Mommy in timeout,” he also said, followed by “My daddy could not wake her up.”

The boy’s claims were quickly dismissed, and he was given up for adoption.

At the time, not even Bonnie’s family members believed Aaron.

“The credibility of a child is something that you have to judge in perspective,” Robert Pasciuto, Bonnie’s father said in a 2010 Unsolved Mysteries docuseries about the case.

While Michael was initially seen as a suspect in the case, he was never charged, as no physical evidence linked him to Bonnie’s disappearance. When Aaron found her skull buried in his estranged father’s backyard, however, Michael was quickly arrested.

It was 2014, when Aaron, now 29, won the deed to his childhood North Jacksonville, Florida home in a wrongful death lawsuit filed against dad Michael. With the help of his brother-in-law, he began digging a swimming pool hole in the family home’s backyard. While excavating, Aaron came across a large bag. As soon as he opened it, he found a broken skull, which he first believed was a coconut.

“It looked like a coconut shell. I had it in my hand. We looked back in the hole and seen teeth,” Aaron told police, according to News 4 Jax. “At that point in time, you could actually see the top of the eye socket. And it was like this part of the head, the top half of the head. I set it back in the hole.”

Investigators sent the skull in for DNA testing and confirmed it belonged to Aaron’s late mother, Bonnie.

Michael, who had since been living in North Carolina, was arrested in 2015. At 52, he still denies any involvement in his late wife’s death.

Aaron is expected to testify during the trial which starts this Tuesday, April 9, in Florida.
