Howard Stern still has more to write after release of new book

Howard Stern swears in his latest book that it will be his last.

But a few days before the book’s release Tuesday, he left the door open for a follow-up. “I ended up devoting way more of my life to this than anyone thought would be required,” the SiriusXM star writes in the intro to “Howard Stern Comes Again.” “I invested so much in it that I’m sure I will never ever go through this again. I swear, I mean it this time.”

But speaking to us Saturday, Stern mused: “There’s a ton I wanted to put in, there are so many people . . . but ultimately I couldn’t.”

When we asked if he’d include the additional interviews in a sequel, he said, “I don’t think I would do that, honestly. I don’t like doing my greatest hits,” before revealing, “If people really love this. Maybe you’re right. If they really, really love it — there’s so much more stuff that I could have put in. You should see what I took out! But at the same time, I feel kind of complete with this. I feel like this could just stand alone. It’s an excellent representation. But I don’t know if it would be a series or not, it depends on how much people would like it. I’m not really looking at it in that way.”

The book shot to No. 1 on Amazon when the May 14 pub date was announced by Simon & Schuster.

It includes past interviews with celebs including Madonna, Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian.

In the book, Stern disavows his previous bestsellers, advising readers to “burn them.”
