Carol Kirkwood Twitter: ‘Well spotted’ BBC Breakfast star makes weather mistake

Carol Kirkwood, 57, rarely puts a step wrong but her Twitter followers told her she had missed an important detail when she delivered the weather on the social media site.

The meteorologist uploaded a picture depicting the air pressure, after presenting the weather on BBC Breakfast, but forgot to say what day it was.

Her tweet read: “This area of low pressure coming up from S/SE could pack a punch. We are watching this one very closely @BBCbreakfast.”

One person replied: “When is this?”

Well spotted!

Another agreed and said: “Yes, needs context!”

Correcting herself, Carol answered: “Well spotted! Friday x.”

Carol also uploaded a picture for today’s forecast which revealed dry weather in the south of England and rain across Wales and Northern Ireland.

She said: “Rain continuing Scot/N Ire. Later rain coming into SE/E Anglia will travel up east of UK overnight @BBCbreakfast xxx.”

Elsewhere on BBC Breakfast yesterday, Carol left host Louise Minchin a little lost for words following one of her forecast’s on the show.

Louise, who was presenting alongside Dan Walker, almost missed her cue after Carol gave an update on the weather.

She finished: “Some of us do still need some of that rain Lou and Dan.”

Carol continued to smile away in her position on screen, waiting for the presenters to address her.

Oo,” Louise could be heard saying, before adding: “Carol thank you. Thank you very much.”

Beginning to giggle, Dan couldn’t resist pointing out the gaffe and turned to his co-star.

“Did you nearly get caught out there?” he asked, smiling.

“I think I was confused,” a sheepish Louise replied.

She said: “Which is not unusual!”

“I would say you’re almost never in a state of confusion,” Dan continued on as Louise stifled a laugh.

“I’m never in a state of confusion!” she insiste.

BBC Breakfast continues tomorrow on BBC One at 6am.
