Blake Shelton Texted Ariana Grande About a Report Claiming She's Why He Might Get Replaced on 'The Voice'

Ariana Grande is killing it as a coach on The Voice, like…to the point that rumors and likely false reports are currently swirling that NBC wants to bring in all-new younger talent to replace Blake Shelton thanks to her popularity.

And if you’re wondering how Blake—whose been a coach on The Voice for 21 seasons—feels about this rumor, he legit texted Ariana about it. Blake sent Ari an article headlined “Producers at ‘The Voice’ May Replace Blake Shelton After Ariana Grande Brings a ‘Fresh’ Energy.” He then added “Thanks a lot Ari… Thanks a fuckin’ lot.”

Considering that Ariana shared this text from Blake and tagged literally everyone in The Voice on Instagram, think it’s probably safe to assume that these reports are false and Blake is here to stay. I mean, the dude has been on this show since Season 1!

Go ahead and check out their text exchange in the Insta dump above, but here’s a screen grab if your swiping finger is tired:

In case you haven’t been watching The Voice, Ari and Blake have a whole good-natured rivalry going on, and according to fellow coach Kelly Clarkson, Blake isn’t thrilled that the audience is more excited about Ari than him. Like, when Ariana visited The Kelly Clarkson Show and got a huge round of applause, Kelly said “This is what it sounds like on The Voice when the coaches are coming out. That’s what it’s supposed to sound like for all of us,” while Ari added, “Blake gets so pissed.”

Petition for Ari and Blake to both stay on The Voice forever and ever, amen.
